Jennille has some fabulous and cheap date ideas to share with all of you Relief Society Ladies! How LUCKY! are we?!?! How Fun!!

  • Exercise together
  • FREE Helium Balloon Rides- Thursday-Sundays at Orange County Great Park.
  • Take some lessons. Try taking a lesson for a couples dance, pottery or a cooking class!
  • Check out a local museum.
  • Have a game night
  • Mini Golf (Boomerts in Irvine $10 person)
  • Go to the arcade. Get some quarters and head to your nearest arcade! Play some games and buy prizes with the tickets you win.
  • Hot Tub at Flintridge Pool in Ladera Ranch, CA
  • Dessert: Yogurtland, Cheesecake Factory, Ferrell's Ice Cream, etc.
  • Ice Skating at the Irvine Spectrum $12 (+2.00 skate rental) Monday-Thursday. From November-February.
  • Walk the Beach
  • Kayak through Naples Canals-Anytime for only $8 per person.
  • Saturday Nights at The Getty- Free outdoor concerts at the Getty Museum on Saturdays through August.
  • Summer Live Music at Malibu Wines at Saturdays and Sundays 1-3 PM or Fridays and Saturdays 7-9 PM
  • Devil's Night Drive-In Watch movies in a drive-in like good ol'times on Saturdays (not FREE but only $10 pp).
  • FREE Bands in the Sand- Free sunset concert at Newport Beach every Saturday through Summer.

St. Patricks Day Recipe


Feel Lucky this St. Patrick's Day with Scalloped Corned Beef & Cabbage Casserole! Satisfy your family's Irish appetite for $10 or less in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 head green cabbage (1 1/2 to 2 pounds), cored and thinly sliced
  • 3/4 pound baking potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
  • 1/2 pound sliced corned beef
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • Salt and pepper
  • 3/4 cup crushed potato chips (about 2 ounces)
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium-high heat. Add half of the cabbage, half of the potatoes and 1 1/2 teaspoons caraway seeds; cook, stirring often, until the baggage is slightly wilted and the potatoes are crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a 9-by-13-inch baking dish and top with half of the corned beef. Repeat the remaining cabbage, potatoes and caraway seeds; transfer to the baking dish and top with the remaining corned beef.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the remaining 4 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes. Whisk in he milk gradually and cook, stirring, until the sauce is smooth and thickened, 5 to 7 minutes; season over the casserole and spread evenly with a knife. Top with the potato chips and bake until golden-brown and bubbling about 25 minutes.
